Hey Neighbour,

Who knew North London had this many farmers markets? Across six boroughs, from Enfield down to Bloomsbury, some have been going for over twenty years and others only started last year. I asked if you wanted a guide and over half of you said yes, so here it is. One gap worth naming: I couldn't find a single farmers market currently running in Barnet. East Finchley had one at the Engine Rooms on Great North Road but it closed. If you know of one I've missed, let me know.

Happy browsing!

NORTH LONDON FARMERS’ MARKET

ISLINGTON

Islington Farmers' Market | 📍 Chapel Market, Penton Street end, N1 9PZ | Every Sunday | Free

London's first farmers' market and it's been going since 1999. Walk past the regular Chapel Market stalls to find it at the Penton Street end. Perry Court Farm does the fruit and veg, Chegworth Valley the juices, Grange Nursery the flowers, and there's organic meat, fresh fish, sourdough from Bread Bread and macarons from J's Cakes. People come every week. Some have done it for years. Dogs are welcome and parking is free on Sundays.

🕐 10am–2pm | 🐕 Yes | 💳 Some stalls

Tufnell Park Market | 📍 Yerbury Primary School, Foxham Road, N19 4RR | Every Saturday | Free

Most of the micro-greens are grown around the corner. The honey is from Haringey and Islington. The cheese comes from small farms across England, Scotland and Switzerland. Only small businesses are allowed to trade here so everything goes straight back to the producer. Around 20 stalls, with crêpes, banh mi and cheese toasties if you want to eat on the spot. Closed Easter, Christmas and August bank holiday.

Organic meat, biodynamic veg, day boat fish, honey, dairy, pies and seasonal flowers, and it all shifts with the seasons. It's a family crowd, it gets busy, and being that it's set in a school has that community feel. Dogs stay outside and bring your own bags.

Love Your N21 Market | 📍 The Sidings, 62 Station Road, N21 3NG | Occasional Sundays | Free
