March is upon us. There's no car boot sale opening in west green, art exhibits, lambing weekend, seed swapping, spring fair, railway festival and much more. As always, I'll keep you updated on weekly events every Thursday, but here's some things to plan ahead for.

Women's History Month in Haringey | 📍Various locations | Throughout Mar | Free
March is Women's History Month and Haringey Council have put something together. On their website you'll find 250 stories of local women who shaped the borough, mapped out across illustrated pages. There are also events running throughout the month including: an archive talk at Bruce Castle Museum on 13 March, a notebook decorating workshop inspired by textile designer Althea McNish on 21 March, and a music celebration at The Mall Wood Green on 28 March.

Samples & Seconds Sale | 📍Abney Hall, N16 | 7-8 Mar | Free
Local makers selling slightly imperfect pieces, prototypes and last items from collections at discounted prices. Ceramics, jewellery, prints, homewares, fashion, wellness. One-off finds, small flaws but still beautiful. Free, no ticket. Arrive early for best selection.

Afrobeats & Lit Brunch | 📍Chuku's, N15 | 8 Mar | (£)
Chuku's is a Nigerian tapas restaurant on Tottenham High Road and this Sunday they're running their Afrobeats & Lit brunch. Three sharing plates and three drinks for £40, a DJ playing all afternoon, and a book swap table stocked with titles by Nigerian authors. Bring a book you've finished, take one home.


KALA Rooftop Sauna & Ice Bath | 📍Archway, N19 | 7 Mar | (£)
Fancy trying ice baths and sauna on an Archway rooftop? KALA doing a Saturday social where you ice plunge, sweat it out in the sauna, learn breathwork for stress. They teach you techniques to handle the cold.

Local street artist James Straffon showing ten years of work at The All Good Bookshop. His wildlife murals are all over West Green walls. Exhibition of paintings from the last decade, other street artists featured too.

Enfield FEASTS! Polish Supper Club | 📍Dugdale Arts Centre, EN2 | 7 Mar | (£)
Supper club with Polish food writer Ren Behan (wrote Wild Honey and Rye, Modern Polish Recipes). She'll tell stories about Warsaw breakfast markets and family recipes, then you eat a multi-course Polish dinner. Traditional dishes like hunter's stew, stuffed cabbage, apple cake, pickles, plus modern Polish street food.

Finchley Vintage & Collectables Roadshow | 📍St Paul's Church, N3 | 13 Mar | Free
You know that box of old jewellery, watches or random collectables you've been meaning to do something with? This is a good excuse to finally dig it out. A team of vintage experts are setting up at St Paul's Church in Finchley, doing free valuations and cash offers on the day — no fees, no obligation to sell. Just turn up between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

The Community Table | 📍Kiva Brasserie, N13 | 13 Mar | (£)
The Community Table is a monthly dinner at Kiva Brasserie in Palmers Green where strangers book individual tickets and get seated together. No organised icebreakers, no awkward group activities. You just turn up, eat good food, and see what happens. Solo diners, couples and groups all welcome.

Spring Open Day & Seed Swap | 📍OmVed Gardens, N6 | 21 Mar | Free
OmVed Gardens opens its doors for their annual seed swap on the Spring Equinox. Bring whatever seeds you have spare, pick up new varieties, and have a wander round the gardens. If you're coming empty handed that's fine too. There'll be live demos from Irish craftmaker Éamonn Ó Hairtnéada on traditional seed baskets and winnowing fans, herbal teas and baked goods at the newly opened OmVed café, and the Bisila Noha exhibition is open in the Barn too.

West Green No Car Boot Sale | 📍West Green Primary School, N15 | 22 Mar | (£)
First No Car Boot Sale at West Green. You'll be able to rummage through second-hand clothes, furniture, books, homewares from pitches. People bring stuff by hand, no cars. Coffee and bakery on site. £1 entry adults, kids free. Cash only, exact change helps.

London Festival of Railway Modelling | 📍Alexandra Palace, N22 | 21-22 Mar, 10am | (£)
Model railway show at Alexandra Palace, 25th year. Walk around 40+ miniature train layouts, tiny detailed worlds with trains running through them. Classic steam to modern. Kids love watching the trains move.


Sunrise Club: Spring Equinox | 📍Primrose Hill, NW1 | 21 Mar | Free
Yes, it's a 5:45am start. But there's something about watching the sun come up over London from the top of Primrose Hill with a group of strangers that makes it worth it. The Sunrise Club do this every Saturday morning and this one's special — it's the Spring Equinox, so sunrise lands at exactly 6:01am. Afterwards everyone walks down to Roots on Regent's Park Road for coffee with 10% off. Look for the big flag at the top. Free, just show up.

Wassail at Clitterhouse Farm | 📍Clitterhouse Farm, NW2 | 21 Mar | Free
Spring Equinox celebration at Clitterhouse Farm. Wassail is an old tradition where you sing to apple trees to bless the harvest. Live music from Dorten Yonder, make nature crowns, kids crafts, seed swap, plant sale, apple cider.

Finchley WI Spring Fair | 📍Stephens House & Gardens, N3 | 22 Mar | Free
Finchley Women's Institute are putting on their Spring Fair this Sunday with over 40 stalls of handmade gifts and local artisan goods. Free to get in, runs 10.30am to 4.30pm.

SECOND EDITION Ceramics Exhibition | 📍Muswell Hill Books & Parlour, N10 | 20-22 Mar | Free
Highgate Ceramics Collective back at Muswell Hill Books & Parlour for their second exhibition. Seven local ceramic artists showing handbuilt vases, vessels and sculptural pieces. Browse ceramics and books together.

Dvořák: Stabat Mater & Petter: Vigil Mass | 📍St Michael's Church, N6 | 21 Mar | (£)
Voxcetera choir singing Dvořák's Stabat Mater with chamber orchestra and four soloists. Prayer to the bereaved mother of Christ, likely inspired by Dvořák's own children dying. Rich, tender music about grief and hope. Performances in 1880s London made him famous in England.



Lambing Weekend | 📍Forty Hall Farm, EN2 | 28-29 Mar | (£)
Forty Hall Farm doing lambing weekend. You can meet the new baby lambs, see birds of prey from First Class Falconry, watch Morris dancers at 12:30pm and 1:30pm. Vintage fairground with bouncy castle and swing boats for kids. Meet the farm beekeeper and try the honey. Food from the farm - pulled pork and beef burgers using their own produce. Also Punjabi food, Malaysian bao buns, Neapolitan pizza. New River Brewery beer and Forty Hall Vineyard wine made on site.

Handmade in Highgate Spring Fair | 📍HLSI, N6 | 27-29 Mar | Free
Spring fair at Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution with designer-makers showing handmade work. Support independent makers working across the UK, and who knows you may find unique pieces you won't find on the highstreet.

Resistance Comedy: Funny @ DAC | 📍Dugdale Arts Centre, EN2 | 28 Mar | (£)
Resistance Comedy run regular stand-up nights at Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield and they tend to pull a strong crowd. This one is headlined by Dane Baptiste, an Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee you might know from Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week, with five more acts and MC Lateef Lovejoy on hosting duties.

Silent Read & Stretch | 📍Hotpod Yoga Crouch End, N4 | 28 Mar | (£)
If your idea of a perfect Saturday involves a book and doing absolutely nothing demanding, this one's for you. Wholesome London Club have teamed up with Hotpod Yoga in Crouch End for an afternoon of silent reading followed by a beginner-friendly yoga flow inside their inflatable studio.

OmVed Spring Supper Club | 📍OmVed Gardens, N6 | 26 Mar | (£)
Tucked behind Highgate, OmVed Gardens has a kitchen that cooks almost entirely from what's growing in their garden. Their supper clubs are a bit of an institution — three vegan courses, a welcome herbal drink, shared tables, and this time artist Bisila Noha will be there on the night to talk about her exhibition exploring ancestry and belonging.

Springtime at the Farm | 📍Lewis of London Ice Cream Farm, EN5 | 28 Mar – 12 Apr | (£)
Lewis of London's ice cream farm in Barnet does an Easter event every year and it's one for little ones. Running daily through the school holidays, kids can hold chicks, pet lambs, go on an egg hunt, race ducks and dig around in the sandpit. It's all under cover so the weather doesn't matter. Ice cream, waffles and lunch on site too.
