Hey Neighbour,
The results are in:
91% of you said you'd come to a My North London event in 2026.
I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting that. Thank you. Truly.
I'm still figuring out what this should be and when, but the whole point is to finally hang out in real life, right? I'll come back to you once I have narrowed down the ideas.
In the meantime...
Plan Your Weekend:

Round Up
Bits and bobs worth knowing.
🚇 You've probably heard of Spotify Wrapped but what about TfL Wrapped? A Reddit user created a tool showing your London transport stats - journeys, spend, routes, and travel time. Works offline in your browser so no data gets shared. Go on, give it a go.
🥖 Highgate's old bus stand now has a weekly farmers market: Started last Saturday with four stalls - fresh pasta, Syrian deli, cheese, pastries. Every Saturday 10am-2pm for a three-month trial.
📋 Haringey's deciding where to build for the next 15 years. Deadline Friday: Draft Local Plan covers housing, green spaces, and development priorities. Have your say by 5pm Friday 19 Dec - email [email protected] or fill in online survey.
💷 Brent proposing 5% council tax rise: Council needs extra money to keep services running despite cutting £10m from their own running costs. Have your say by 30 Jan - drop-in at Kingsbury Library 12 Jan, 4-6pm, or online.
☕ Who's running Hampstead Heath cafés? They decided but won't say: City of London Corporation made the decision on Parliament Hill Lido, Queen's Park, and Highgate Wood cafés behind closed doors. Won't reveal outcome yet. Part of bigger pattern - 38% of their committee meetings happen in private. Critics calling it "culture of non-transparency."
💼 Got work experience or a job going? Camden will match you with candidates: "100 in 100" campaign seeks jobs for care leavers, refugees, and people with disabilities. Council provides candidate matching, support, and grants. Work placements to full-time roles all count. Pledge by 11 Feb 2026, email [email protected].
🌳 Barnet Council considering selling Chipping Barnet Woodland for development: The 100-year-old site on Christchurch Lane has protected trees, bats, badgers and deer. Planning application expected soon. Local volunteers recording wildlife data and running a petition against it.
