📍Why I chose a 200-year-old pub for our first ever event

Chapel Market 1970s
I visited a few pubs before landing on Chapel Market Tavern. Some were okay. One was gorgeous but the vibe inside felt off, an odour of pretentiousness, which was the last thing I wanted. One of the things that mattered most to me was everyone feeling welcome, no matter where they're from. Chapel Market Tavern has been on that corner since the early 1800s, so it's a real community staple. Although it has changed faces throughout the years, nine different names since the 1770s, one thing has remained true: it has always been a pub, open to whoever walks through the door.
Also, fun fact — you know Chapel Market, the street the pub sits on? Sometime in the 1800s the land was set aside for a chapel, the street took the name in anticipation, and then nothing. No chapel, no explanation, just a market that's been trading under a false name ever since. Literally, 200 years of confusion.
Anyway, every week I give you reasons to leave your house (and that won't change). But now I'm giving you a reason to connect.

The Chapel Market Tavern
On 1st April, we're hosting our first ever IRL event. Know Thy Neighbour at Chapel Market Tavern. 'Speed dating' for neighbours, minus the dating. Grab your ticket here, once they're gone, they're gone.
